We received a pint of tiny, cherry-sized plums in our CSA share. They were a little on the ripe side, so I figured that a plum sauce over ice cream sounded like the perfect use for them. This recipe came out delicious, but a little on the tart side, so if you like things a little sweeter, feel free to add some more sugar.
- 1 pint of cherry plums, halved & pitted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Combine all ingredients in frying pan. Heat through, slowing increasing temperature to medium-high. Reduce heat and simmer until slightly thickened. Serve over ice cream.
