Way, way back in the day, I bought a 1st gen iPod nano. It was an adorable little thing, all shiny white with a little click wheel. After a few years, it started to have a few funky battery issues, but I replaced it with an iPhone and it sat in a drawer for a few more years. I was just on the verge of throwing it out a few months ago when I stumbled across this: the iPod Nano replacement program. Apparently a handful of those 1st gen iPods had the nasty habit of catching on fire (!). If you have one, you can send it back to Apple for a replacement, even if it’s completely out of warranty. Instead of a refurb-1st gen, they sent me a shiny new one! Touch screen, full color, a little work-out program and everything. Yay!
